Continuing on our theme of trying to tell the story of the year as it goes along, please keep revisiting this part of the website. Some of the pictures will be used as a taster for the gallery section.
To kick start 2019, We organised a minibus trip to Oxford bus museum, for the presbus day.
Quorn Station during the Winter Steam gala and we see a double header just arriving. I have converted this one to monochrome to add to the atmosphere.
DMU class 101 seen at Loughborough during light movements. Again I felt it was a nice touch to convert this image to monochrome.
CT4N Optare Tempo Seen on Friar Lane Nottingham. The bus was new to Trent Barton and is one of several to Join the CT4N fleet for contracted services in the Nottingham area. The location is of note too, as during the time the picture was taken, a diversion was taking place due to an traffic incident.
As part of Fleet upgrading, Midland Classic bought a number of ADL E400 buses from Tower Transit London. One was chosen to be painted in to the old Burton on Trent Corporation colours. It is seen here with the other bus in heritage livery in the colours of Stevensons of Uttoxeter. Burton on Trent corporation would later become East Staffordshre and would merge with Stevensons In 1985, well effectively a takeover by Stevensons. Midlland Classic has acquired some road grime, showing a day of toil.
Taken from the City Wall in York, We have Reliance of Sutton in the Forest ADL E200 MMC leaving for a journey to Easingwold. The bus proudly proclaims "built and Operated in Yorkshire" on the rear. Looks rather smart in this livery.
Skills of Nottingham celebrate their centenary this year, being established in 1919, and thrives as Nottnghams largest coach firm, Work covers Tours Holidays, Day Excursions Contract work and National Express. Part of the investment for the contract work has been the purchase of a batch of 10 Transbus Trident with Transbus President bodywork. Skills seem to be doing away with the contract livery of Yellow and white. This example is seen returning to depot after a morning college run.
Former Nottingham City Transport East Lancs bodied Scania is seen looking extremely smart during a pick at Southwell Minster.
Seen in Derby is this smart Setra coach from the Eminence fleet of Wolverhampton.
A surprise move was Yourbus entering the coach market in the East Midlands with the purchase of a number of Mercedes Tourismos. This one is seen on a school journey in the Wollaton area of Nottingham.
Seen at St Pancras Station in London. is Volvo B7TL with East Lancs bodywork, new to the Metropolitan police as a mobile exhibition unit.
Pictured on a rail replacement at East Midlands Parkway. Rowe of Nuneaton Volvo B10M with Plaxton Paramount 3500 coach work. Surely a rarity these days.
RTW467 Seen at Weybridge station during the Spring gathering at Brooklands. For more picture from the weekend we had at Detling and Brooklands please visit the page in the gallery section of the website.
To mark the 50th Anniversary of the foundation of WMPTE, NX West Midlands have painted several buses in to past liveries. Here is the West Bromwich example.
In the next round of upgrades to Gas buses Nottinghams first change was the Brown Line service, which serves Hucknall Road and City Hospital to Bulwell.
The following gallery was taken during late May 2019 in Southampton and at Northampton during an interchange for Grand UK holidays.
Pictures here were taken during July 2019, when the coaching silly season is in full swing, however it tails off toward the end of the month when the schools break up for the summer break,
